The SNP has suggested that it will in fact vote against the government plans, to bring the fox hunting laws into line, with those in scotland. This is perfectly constitutional and legal, however somewhat hypocritical.
The SNP support the idea of scottish independence and devolution of powers, yet they refuse to support government plans to allow english votes for english laws and have decided that it was in their interests to vote against the government in the case of fox hunting, even though the law proposed would not affect them nor their constitutions and so perhaps they need to get their fingers out of the english parliamentary pie and soon, before the English people decide to leave the union. Now, where will that leave the scottish people? Most likely in a deep red pit full of receipts...
The idea of Scottish MPs voting on laws that only affect english constituencies is blatantly anti-democratic of the SNP, although I would support some of their ideas. It is, however, not acceptable to go against the freedom of self determination. It is quite simply wrong on all levels. Democracy must reign supreme or risk losing its sovereignty.
