The EU has had some bad press recently, actually for 5 years or so...
The EU appears to be be splitting apart, with Grexit and Brexit looming, fuelled by economic shortfalls, in the case of Greece, and the fear of immagration and the rise of UKIP and the National Front.
The fear of Brexit had become increasingly worrying, with the threats from Deutchebank and HSBC moving out of the Country.
So, is there any hope for this Red Giant?
Well, growth is up this year, primarily fuelled by the engine room of the EU, Germany and by it's other smaller 'engines Britain and France.
But the EU continues to drag on the 'sick man of Europe', once Britains role in Europe, now given to the even more sick man, Greece.
So, is the EU heading in the same direction as the Red Giants of the solar system?
Well no, If you look at the E.U, it's knowwhere near as bad as other confederations like the U.S after the war of independence. The E.U isn't having it's own Shay's rebellion and if you go to places like germany, support for the E.U is still strong.
Further more, most people in the UK don't want to leave the E.U. This little independence movement has been blown out of proportion. Like a bubble. It will eventually burst, when 'The Great Referendum' takes place. Additionally, really all the referendum will do is scare investment away from the UK because markets hate un-certainty.
So, no the EU isn't a red giant. It isn't about to blow up and fragment, in fact, I think things are going to get better. The boom will take hold and Austerity will end in the socialist countries of the EU and the E.U is probably at the stage before our sun. It has yet to bloom. It hasn't made the final step towards nationhood, which is could easily do with fear from Russia and the western world, standing up to the Chinese Dragon. The E.U, collectively, has the largest economy in the world with three of it's nations in the G7, quite an acheivment. Also, the E.U is the largest manafaturer of goods, destroying the argument that the E.U is in decline. I think the E.U has yet to bloom and has yet to show the world of it's 'second coming' in the modern world.
