Democracy. Legitimatising theft?

Democracy has been used, in one way or another, for thousands of years and one of the first organised voting systems was set up in Ancient Greece and later within the Roman Empire, when the senate ruled, once the last of the seven kings was deposed.

So, yes Democracy does seem to be the way forward because people have the right to self determination, as people are people and Democracies tend to bring peace and prosperity.

However, democracy also allows the minority to be quashed and so the phrase: 'tyranny of the majority' comes to mind. This has been shown to happened all through history, whether that be Nazi Germany or even today in modern Britain. The same can be seen today, with the Rich. As, somehow those with the 'Broadest shoulders' to quote Ed Miliband should carry a little more. But, why should they! I mean, if they want to then they can and if they don't then they shouldn't have to. I think really people need to understand that the idea of property should not be meddled with. What is mine is mine. What is yours is yours. They shouldn't mix, without consent. If, this happened in civic life then it would be considered theft but, somehow, just because a democracy says it's okay it is.

So, yes people need protecting by the state but that is it and only those in society in worst of positions, I don't know like life dehibalarating condition like locked in sydrom and these people need protecting but everyone else should be a success of a human being and not depend on anyone else.
