When you look at the graph above, you then naturally expect that the south east gets properly funded. However, the south east gets 13% less than the national average, the lowest per head per region of the U.K
This you could argue is good because it redistributes wealth but, now this is just an observation but, it seems that the best funded regions actually have higher levels of poverty. Now, just putting this out there but, perhaps that is because the South East has, in effect, been forced into being independent of the state and so become self sufficient, hence why it is successful.
Further more, in the word's of Nigel Farage: 'the English are a little cheesed off'. And, I think this is true. I, a member of an English region, am 'a little cheesed off'. Why do we subsides everyone else?
Subsidize yourself and stop depending on the state for everything.
