the great school uniform MONOPOLY

In most schools, there is a uniform. This uniform is sold by just one shop. This shop then has the power to raise and lower prices as it sees fit. This then leaves parents and students open to abuse by the market and since there is no other shop in the market, to compete with the first shop, there is no choice for customers. There is then no fighting for customers meaning that the shop never has to lower it's prices and so the customer may end up paying huge sums of money simply because the market has been controlled by one shop.

This monopoly must not continue! It is simply wrong and would not be accepted in any other industry. For, example: Lloyds TSB recently became Lloyds Banking Group and TSB, two separate companies fighting for the same customers, as a result of anti-monopoly rules. The same basic rules are needed for the school uniform industry in order to make it possible for companies to undercut other companies, creating fairer priced goods for the consumer.
